How this directory works

Accuracy is the product. This page explains where the data comes from, how fresh it is, what the payout terms mean, and what we will not publish.

Sources and evidence

Every record stores its official source URL, the source type, the date we first listed it, and the date of the last successful source check. Campaign records carry an evidence level:

  • Public listing and detail page reviewed: we read both the discover listing and the full public campaign page, including per-channel rates, payout minimums, and caps.
  • Public listing reviewed: we recorded the campaign from a public discover feed only; the full brief lives on the source page.
  • Official site reviewed: used for platform profiles built from the platform's own public pages.

Descriptions are original summaries written for this directory. We quote facts (rates, caps, budgets, requirements), not marketing copy.

Freshness and staleness

  • Records checked within the last 14 days count as recently checked.
  • Records not re-checked within 30 days are marked stale wherever they appear and are excluded from any count that implies current availability, including the open-campaign total on the CLIPINDEX home page.
  • Campaign status reads "Open as of" a date because availability is only known as of the most recent completed check. We make no live or real-time claims.

Both thresholds live in one configuration file in the codebase, so every page, count, and badge uses the same definition. Most recent source check across the directory: Oct 27, 2026.

Payout terminology

Advertised CPM
The rate per 1,000 eligible views the source publishes. It is a promise of rate, not a record of payment.
Effective paid CPM
Documented creator payouts divided by their corresponding eligible views, times 1,000. We only compute it when both numbers are public and cover the same reporting scope, and we never substitute campaign budget for payouts.
Fixed rewards, retainers, pools, affiliate commissions, bonuses
Tracked as separate reward models and never blended into CPM figures. A pool payout depends on everyone's views, so it is not comparable to a per-view rate.
Budget
We distinguish total allocation, spent amount, and remaining amount, and state what the source means by each. Remaining budget is only calculated when both total and spent are published.
Eligible views
The views a platform actually pays on after screening, which can be fewer than public view counters show. Platforms commonly filter bot traffic and may apply watch-time or account rules. Seebotted engagementand CPM in Clipipedia.
Currency
Every amount carries an explicit currency. We never convert currencies silently, and sorting or filtering by CPM only compares amounts in the same currency.
Unknown values
Display as "Not provided" (or an equally explicit label) and are excluded from numeric comparisons. Missing information is never shown as zero.

Listing criteria

  • Platforms are listed when they are live, reachable, and verifiable from their own public pages. We verify names and product relationships first, and we do not list the same service twice under different names.
  • Campaigns are listed from public, account-free sources. Campaigns that exist only behind a login are not indexed.
  • Directory totals are computed from the records themselves: currently19 campaigns and 4 platforms. No counts, earnings figures, testimonials, or ratings are invented, and CLIPINDEX publishes no trust scores or best-platform rankings.
  • Duplicate protection: each record is keyed by source platform plus the platform's own campaign ID (or a normalized source URL), so re-importing the same campaign updates the existing record instead of duplicating it.

Update process

  • Campaign records sourced from Content Rewards are re-checked by an automated job that runs every hour. It reads the same public campaign pages linked from each record, then updates status, budget figures, documented payout stats, reward terms, and the last-checked date. The update publishes with the next site build, so figures reflect the most recent completed check rather than a live feed.
  • The job only updates existing records. Campaigns that newly appear on the public feed are queued as drafts, and a maintainer reads the source page and writes the description and requirements before anything is published.
  • Platform profiles and campaigns on platforms without a public campaign feed are maintained manually. A record of any kind that misses its re-check window is marked stale, as described above, whether the check is automated or manual.
  • Every automated update runs the full validation suite before anything changes. A record that fails validation, or a source page that cannot be read, leaves the existing record untouched so its dates stay honest.

Ownership and sponsorship disclosure

  • Clipper University, which publishes CLIPINDEX, is part of the Clipur ecosystem. Clipur's platform profile carries a visible ecosystem badge, and the relationship appears as its own row in the comparison tool.
  • No placement in this directory is sponsored, and there are no affiliate links in the current records. If either is ever introduced, it will be labeled on the record where it applies.
  • Default directory ordering is reproducible: most recently checked first, with alphabetical tiebreaks. No hidden weighting.

Corrections

Every campaign and platform page has a report link. You can also emailadmin@clipper.universitywith the record URL and what changed. Confirmed corrections update the record and its last-checked date.

Common questions

Does a listing in CLIPINDEX guarantee payment?

No. Terms checked means we read the campaign or platform public page on the date shown. We do not process payments, verify payout history, or guarantee that a platform will pay.

How often is the data updated?

Campaign records from Content Rewards are re-checked every hour by an automated job that reads each record's public source page; other records are checked manually. A record not re-checked within 30 days is marked stale on every page where it appears and is excluded from counts that imply current availability. Updates publish with the next site build, so CLIPINDEX shows the most recent completed check, not a live feed.

Why do some fields say Not provided?

Because the source does not publish that information. We never replace missing information with zero or a guess, and records with unknown values are excluded from numeric comparisons on those fields.
